Had offline conversations with Brad and Pavel. I understand this change is to address a very specific problem which I think might be more common for VMs. My concern remains that once the value is set to disable devids, it applies to all pools and will persist. I was not able to offer a solution to address. Pavel mentioned a few other options which would require more time such as forcing a label update with the new devids. i.e. force-accept new devids which could be an option when importing a pool. If you decide to go ahead with this, I won't hold it up. However, I would strongly recommend that the comments that it applies to all pools be highlighted.
