As far as I have been able to establish, you still require interface builder to create your initial GUI.

I am happy to be proven wrong on this subject though :).

Subject: Ruby Cocoa

Hi Hayden,
You mentioned using ruby cocoa to develop the gui for a ruby application. Can this be done without using xcode's interface builder? I haven't been able to find anything obvious showing how to do this by googling. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi,
Personal preference My way would dictate that you try learning to code in ruby from http://www.ruby-lang.org and then you could front end your ruby apps with Ruby Cocoa from http://rubycocoa.sourceforge.net . If you need any manuals in either of these fields, I would strongly suggest looking at Beginning Ruby: From Novice to Professional at http://apress.com/book/view/9781590597668
