Robert, Thanks for the tip.
As my aim in testing is to simulate ZFS compression performance outside of the file system as far as practical, I will remove files which fall over the 12.5% mark, from future reported performance figures. I will still continue to test against them though, because it is useful as an exercise of all paths of the decompressor.
