The second annual OpenZFS Developer Summit will be held in San
Francisco, November
10-11, 2014. All OpenZFS developers are invited to participate.

See http://www.open-zfs.org/wiki/OpenZFS_Developer_Summit for all of the
details.

The goal of the event is to foster cross-community discussions of OpenZFS
work and to make progress on some of the projects we have proposed.

Like last year, the first day will be set aside for presentations. However,
we are going to manage presentation selection differently this year. If
you want to give a talk, submit a proposal via email to [email protected],
including a 1-2 paragraph abstract. I (Matt) will review all of the
submissions and select talks that will be most interesting for the audience..

The deadlines are as follows:

Sept 8, 2014 All abstracts/proposals submitted to [email protected]

Sept 19, 2014 Proposal submitters notified

Sept 26, 2014 Conference registration closes

Oct 17, 2014 Agenda finalized

Nov 10-11, 2014 OpenZFS Developer Summit

The second day of the event will be a hackathon, where you will have the
opportunity to work with OpenZFS developers that you might not normally sit
next to, with the goal of having something, no matter how insignificant, to
demo at the end of the day. Please add your hackathon ideas to the summit
wiki page.

We’re going to use EventBrite to manage registration: https://www.eventbrite
..com/e/2014-openzfs-developer-summit-tickets-11487211559 to sign up. The
password for the event is *2014ozds*.

Important: you must register by *September 26th* so we can find another
venue if we have more attendees than will fit in the Delphix office.

This event is only possible because of the efforts and contributions of the
community of developers and companies that sponsor the event. I’m happy to
say that several of last year’s sponsors have committed to sponsoring again
this year: Delphix, iXsystems, FreeBSD Foundation, DDRDrive, Storiant,
andHigh-Availability
..

Additional sponsorship opportunities are available. Please see the website
for details and send email to [email protected] if you have any questions
or suggestions for sponsorship.
