Abandoned seems a bit harsh :). Unless I misrecall, Saso was waiting
for testing and review, and never received enough to be comfortable
trying to integrate it. If enough people are willing now to review it
and do some good testing in various environments, maybe he would be
kind enough to pick it back up :)...
This is exactly the state of affairs, thanks Paul for clarifying it.
As for further work on the code, I definitely won't abandon it, I just
don't have the time right now to work on it. Any testing, though, would
be appreciated.
I was running my port of this patch for about 6 month I think? It seems to
work correctly, no data lose or corruption to say the least. Although the
system I was using was rather small: a laptop with a hdd and an ssd.
Hopefully more feedback would come from ZFSOnLinux.
