As said earlier, DDS is a standard for sharing data in distributed real-time systems and its ‘global-dataspace’ pattern is implemented by replicating published data into subscriber’s reader-caches that are similar to (in-memory) databases in that these reader-caches are structured w.r.t key-fields and can be filtered/queried by means of a subset of SQL. OpenSplice as a DDS implementation has pluggable services one of which is a database-connector that replicates real-time data into an ODBC compliant RDBMS (and vice-versa).
