Oh, and the results quoted are for the European elections in 2009 not
the local council elections (in which UKIP did much less well), which
is a classic Lib Dem ploy as we all know, obviously UKIP don't want to
miss a trick.

I'm assuming charitably (and someone who knows more about European
constituency boundaries can chip in please) that the Canterbury City
Council Area of the South Eastern England Region is coterminous with
the Canterbury constituency.

STV using Meek counting really does avoid this nonsense of "only A can
beat B", but maybe that would take the fun out if.
