This was built as a submission to Sunlight's Apps for America 2 contest, which asked people to build apps around data form Data.gov, back when it was first launched. Though this one didn't win, it was my personal favorite, and I bring it up all the time. Companies like Kayak have made use of this data as part of their commercial offerings, but this is the first I've seen it done as a public service. I especially love how they re-syndicate the data via API, so that other people don't have to parse the FAA like they did.
