Hi, I'm a local councillor, and use fixmystreet frequently, but I've never really got on with their iPhone app, so really pleased to see someone else having a crack at it.
Initial impressions are very good. I've just downloaded it, but haven't used it yet. A couple of comments: I report a lot of blocked roadside gulleys, but that doesn't seem to be an option here. I'm not sure of the value of all the subcategories, but would suggest that each category should have an 'other' subcategory - otherwise it's awkward to report something that doesn't fit. You should offer the same categories as fixmystreet. It's important that the category is correct, because that determines which authority receives the report. Not so critical in areas covered by unitary authorities, but very important elsewhere. For regular users of the web site, it's probably best that the categories have the same name and are sorted alphabetically. I don't really see the point of offering a "priority". It's not a feature of fixmystreet, and prioritisation is something that should be set by council officers with reference to their workload. The history feature is a very good idea. It's something that the web site seems to be missing. If that works how I expect, I'll be very happy :^) Basically, I'm hoping that I can easily get back to the report on the web site, so that I can make updates. Anyway - nice job. I look forward to seeing something that needs fixing soon!
