It's easy to just say that Congress is corrupt and have people nod their heads, but OpenCongress wields the data, reporting, and experience to contribute to the discussion in a more meaningful way than they did. They could be for governance what FiveThirtyEight is for elections, if they wanted to be.
I believe in corruption in Congress (I'm following the Charlie Rangel saga with bated breath, in fact), but I really don't like it when the subject is oversimplified in a way that amplifies blind anti-incumbent sentiment. Congress does complex work, each of its members are complex people, and there's a dearth of good people and websites out there treating it that way. -- Eric On Fri, Jul 30, 2010 at 11:09 AM, IR Consultancy < [email protected]> wrote: > Eric I just don't think they have explained it in detail because I assume > they feel they are preaching to the converted who already know many examples > where Congress has a flawed system. That would be a shame.
