Thanks.  Very interesting.  I've heard of a few other attempts to replace
RSS.  My gut feeling is that we will probably have RSS around for a long
time, since so many packages support it, and we don't want to loose
connectivity to those sites.  However, if any of the replacements start
gaining popularity, we should look at including them as an additional form
of syndication.
