More than 30 bugs have been fixed in this release and also a few performance issues have been resolved. See releasenotes.txt for the complete list of bugfixes.
Because an unicast implementation has been added besides the existing multicast implementation for broadcasting changes, you are required to make some configuration changes. Please refer to the upgrade.txt for information about these changes.

MMBase is distributed in two different 'flavours', mmbase-src and mmbase. First is the source distribution and the second is the binary distribution.
The binary distribution's target users are end-users and first-time users. It contains a working hsqldb database and applications (including builders) needed for the examples can be installed.
The source distribution's target users are developers who like to start building their own MMBase.
