Hi, The next MMBase users & developers meeting will be on Thursday January 27, 2005 - 19:00-21:00h (18:00h for those who join the pizza). We hope it will be as fruitful and interesting as the meeting of November 4. In the new year we want to use a new format for the users & developers meeting: the meeting starts with a users part, developers can also join this part as long as they can abstain from starting to discuss technical issues. After the users part, the developers part of the meeting will be held. People who do not want to be witness of the technical discussion of new and ongoing development projects can leave then. The program of the meeting of January 27 is: USERS PART 1 - LeoCMS - ??? & Hessel van Rosbergen (30 min.) The MMBase application of the town Leeuwarden, called LeoCMS, will become downloadable from the MMBase site in the first week of 2005. The plan for the meeting is that one of the users of LeoCMS will show how they work with LeoCMS, what they see as strong and weak points, and their experience with the implementation project. In the second part of the presentation, Hessel van Rosbergen will give an overview of the modules integrated in the LeoCMS and point out how you can use and (most important ;-) participate in the development of these modules. DEVELOPERS PART 1 - UML2MMBase - Ernst Bunders (15 min.) UML2MMBase is a third-party application that generates a complete webapplication from a UML objectmodel. As a user of this tool, Ernst will give a demo and highlight its features. 2 - Lucene module - Wouter Heijke (15 min.) The Lucene module is an third-party MMBase module for full text search capabilities. Its creator, Wouter, will talk about how to use it, current status and future developments. 3 - Sourceforge project MMApps - Kees Jongenburger (15 min.) MMApps is a project on Sourceforge, hosting third-party open source software for use with MMBase. On of its projectmanagers, Kees, will talk about its goals, and the ideas behind it, and how to participate. 4 - JSP2 and MMBase - Rob van Maris (30 min.) This talk will start with a quick introduction to new features of JSP2, in particular the expression language, the Java Standard Tag Library, and the new Taglib API. This will be followed by ideas for an all-new MMBase taglib, that takes maximal advantage of these developments. The meeting will be hosted by Ordina in Amersfoort (You will receive an email with the precise location after you signed in by sending an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED]) Pizza's are offered by the MMBase Foundation. For those not familiar with the users and developers meeting: the goal of the users part is to inform users on released functionality and show how it can be installed and used; the goal of the developers part is to discuss new and ongoing development projects. The overall goal is to stay informed, discuss, have a chat and a beer. 2.
