hello developers
I have to get started with the new package manager, and don't know where
to start.
There is an apps2 dir in the speeltuin, but it has no build script and i
can't find any other reference to actual code. So is there a binary
install? and if not, is the code in the speelthuin __the__ code? and how
should i deploy it? is there a small manual??
regards..

It's probably easiest to start with an 1.8 installation, because it is simply in CVS HEAD. IIRC
correctly in a 1.8 distro links in the amdin pages are still missing, but you can simply browse to
/mmbase/packagemanager to find the pacakge manager.

Sorry i was missing in action for a few days, I agree with that 1.8 is easest to start with. Ill add a few links
in the admin tool today so you can reach the package manager and package builder.

I suppose the whole thing can be backported to 1.7, but that would certainly require some
documentation.

It should work with 1.7 but i have not tested it for a few weeks, i posted the 'how to on the list
a while back but in idea its 'do ant install in packaging and function application. But ill focus
on 1.8 so that is indeed the best way since its fully installed and ready to go.

Ill give support online (irc) if needed and will try to reply to mails on this list faster.

Daniel.
