Hi Michiel thanks for the reply. I was looking for a definition language and engine in order to create flash components - assumed that is what mmflash did. Using SWFML, it is possible to compile the XML into an .swf file which the flash player can read, but my understanding is that it does not 'play' xml, no matter what the definition language, that the xml first has to be compiled into a flash movie - it is that compiler that I am looking for and assumed mmflash to be. Given the serious lack of those compilers on the market, it would indeed be very useful if that is what it did. Alternatively a "generic" flash movie could place text, graphics, apply rudimentary animations, etc., by reading in xml with it's own proprietory structure, but this would not be as useful as creating flash movies from an xml file.
