Hello all, Today, the scientific paper on MMBase was officially published on the website of IBM Systems Journal. I think it's great to have the history of MMBase, it's main chracteristics and some of the issues we're facing published on an international level. If you would like to have a hard copy of the paper, please tell me (asap), I think I can manage to get some.... http://www.research.ibm.com/journal/sj/442/becking.pdf
And I would also like to draw your attention to the Holland Open Software Conference. Not just because there are many high profile speakers and project, but also because James Baty would like you to be there (Tuesday and Wednesday at a workshop) . He really is not ‘just’ the chief (cto/vice president of SUN), but often referred to as the “pappa” of many of the developers at SUN Microsystems. Please read the abstract of his presentation. http://www.hollandopen.nl/index.jsp?nr=716 And of course there is much more at the conference that might be of interest, like Scott Handy (vice president IBM), the founder of wikipedia (Jimbo Wales), Madan Mohan Rao (India, Bangalore), Jesus Villasante (haed of softwaredevelopment EU-Information Society), Stefaan van Hooydonk (e-learning and games make learning fun), president Apache Foundation (Dirk Willem van Gulik), FFII spokesman Erik Josefsson on patents, Arnoud Engelfriet (Philips, patents) and “of course” Johanna Boogerd who will talk about the pressure used (she is a former EP member form D66, and sharp on patents). Next week the full program will be published, but a lot of information is already on the website. Hope to meet you in Amsterdam May 30, 31, June 1. And yes, I have some low price tickets available .... Kind regards, Jo.
