Hi michiel

as far a I know for RMI to work you need class files that are compiled against
the same jvm version (and sometimes even jvm provider) as your
runtime. The best for now would be to remove the offending code form
the jar , the code does not belong in the WEB-INF/lib but it needs a
place somewhere. I can also live with it if the code was removed from
the distro. and a "remoting pack" was offered as download.

Well my point is very simple. if you take the default 1.7.x and 5.5.x (mmbase and tomcat)
it doesn't work both in the source and the bin releases. I can't see why we would not see
this as a problem alot of people will run into this error and have no clue as how to solve it.

The reason to remove it is because its not needed there anyway (as far as i understood it). Also
its not in 1.8 anymore so somewhere someone changed it for the current release !!

Daniel.
