A few years ago, when the editwizards were made, this was perhaps not yet possible, but noawadays I think it is, and it is certainly something I will look into more, because I think that editors more based on client-side are a better experience for both server and client...
Probably, but I would first like to see how one wants to integrate this 'xml parsing', and especially how to use it.
We are currently planing a project to improve the editwizards with extra functionality, and solving isuses such as the errorhandling.
Moving some code to the client is an option and could be integrated but I don't feel much for a 'javascript' war or spending three montsh fkxing issues with a browser because of functionalities not being properly supported.
I know that Finalist also planned a re-design of the editwizard code. Unfortunately time restraints mean I can't wait perpetually on other people (same reason why I have been working on my own lucene module - will post on this another time).
If we want to combine efforts and ideas maybe we should plan a meeting on how to redesign the editwizards, and how to facilitate fucntionality such as client-side transformations, triggering custom made code, errorhandling, etc.
