pictures say a thousand words :-), does anyone
agree that it would be a really good idea to have application designs in
CVS? Documentation is often not enough - need pictures! Things like
process flows can't be adequately describe and the effort is usually not put
in. I think a complete set of docs for any app would be user guide (a
couple of examples may suffice), cloud design (uml entity diagram - input to
uml2mmbase possibly), javadocs and a process flow diagram.
The main thing for me is that the diagrams could be
agreed before any coding begun - it's a great way to gather input an suggestions
outside of a long-winded discussion.
Does anyone have suggestions on what design tools
to use to facilitate this - if anyone/everyone agrees. I use visio for
process diags and poseidon for the ERD stuff.
