The image is sent via stdin to image-magick. The :- argument is always the last one. Therefore you cannot combine two mmbase images. You could only combine an image on disk with an mmbase image. This is possible, though I think you are limited to absolute filenames (the issue came up on IRC a few weeks ago). These could be considered a limitation of the current implementation. Fixable, perhaps.
