I would opt for 'strict', that is clearer. We can also f.e. disable
the use of bidirectionality in relation paths in the taglib. This
could (should?) be added to 'strict' in a future iteration of MMBase.

So, all in all I'd propose to release 1.8.1 even before 1.8.0
becomes one month old.
