Hi!
I've read the mailing-list archive and mmbase documentation, but
I can not find a way to solve my problem.

I have two mmbase's. One for our current portal, one for our
next version. Somebody will be creating new content in the new
mmbase, but this process may take several weeks.
And during this time frame, some content may also be edited on
the current mmbase, so some of them must be replicated in the
new mmbase. Otherwise, our new mmbase will not be up to date.

So I am looking for a solution to export the datas from the
current mmbase, and to replicate these datas on the new mmbase,
in order to merge them with the new datas.

I would advise against merging the two. It is virtualy impossible to keep the data apart. Or to merge data that is based in the same nodetypes.

I would advise to create a regular backup of your current MMBase and use this as the basis for your development MMBase. Normally while developing you create new nodetypes or new (sub)clouds upon an existing MMBase. It is quite easy to create MMBase application files to backup this (new) data. Before your (daily or weekly for example) update of the development instance with the data from your current live version, you should backup the new nodetypes and (sub)clouds with an MMBase application from your development version. After you are finished importing the data from live version, you import the data from the MMBase application and you can start developing again. At the end you have a newly developed MMBase with the old data and the new nodetypes and (sub)cloud.

That would be like : get the datas from the current mmbase, and
update the new mmbase with it (hopefully, new datas from the new
mmbase won't be affected by this update process).

Like i described above it would be more or less the other way around.

Any suggestion?
Thanks in advance!
