Yes, it would be nice if all these functions could be removed from MMObjectBuilder.The MMObjectBuilder is a legacy source at the vpro, because it has some extra executeFunction's and a bigger obj2type cache. I'd like to get rid of this code in MMBase 1.6.2,The extra functions are - xml (escape xml characters) - escapejavascript The mmbase 1.7 should get a more generic way for all functions.
I would like to see that you can configure which functions you want to use, the same is possible for subclasses of MMObjectBuilder.
Putting the functions in a util package would make them more reusable.
