I think it cannot harm to change the builder-xml's of 1.6 containing a reference to the to-be-deprecated classes. New 1.6.2 installation will then be easier to migrate to 1.7, but for a migration from 1.6.1 to 1.6.2 it will still be sufficient to replace mmbase.jar, and leave the config alone.
