I don't think that this desition should be made using a vote. and the implications are quite big
Well, if the distro project does not make decisions, and you do not want the MMC to determine this, the community should make a decision.
But I think it is useful to discuss this first.
So, I suggest to void the call and use this thread for discussion of how applications should be implemented (in CVS, and relating to dependencies etc) before we call a final vote on it.
I am fine if the distro project decides on it, btw. But I think that project has not had a meeting for over a year.
