I still don't know what this problem was, it was solved however when we removed the 
SSL.  On the other hand, we also had some problems with our proxy resulting in a slow 
connection at that time so I am not able to do a clean analysis into this problem.

The browser hang situation did seem to occur on the moment the HTML wysisyg toolbar of 
the EditWizards was trying to popup. Somehow the pics on the toolbar were not loaded. 
This made me think it might be related to image retrieval through DHTML (since this 
toolbar is rendered on the fly by Javascript).
