Hi developers,
The media project is almost finished. We are still updating some
documentation, and the VPRO is now testing the new media code in their
production environment (more than 300.000 objects are involved). The
project will be finished before mmbase 1.7 will be released.
VOTE FOR:
I want to ask a vote for removing the old media related code from the
MMBase head (1.7).
The code is, as far as i know, used by nobody, and that has probably a
good reason.... The code is full of hard coded paths, and real media
specific information. Apart from that, the code is not well structured
and not reusable. The media project will provide you all functionality
and more, so removing the deprecated code shouldn't be a problem.
The files i want to remove are:

./module/builders/MediaParts.java
./module/builders/floppydrvsProbe.java
./module/core/MMObjectNode.java
Remove some references to the removed media classes.
./servlet/servdb.java

./util/media/video/videoparts/VideoPartDef.java
./util/media/video/VideoUtils.java
./util/media/MediaUtils.java
