The current EditWizards, shipping with MMBase 1.6.5, work best in Mozilla, although a recent Internet Explorer will do (the search results are displayed in layers which line-out somewhere where you won't expect them). The most recent versions of the EW behave better overall, and maybe even in Safari, but you will have to download and install them separately.
Which versions of the OS/browsers work/don't work? Are there alternatives (like remote desktop/terminal server for mac)?
I would not advice that. Mozilla will do fine, but that would have to be on Mac OS X i believe.

Most EW's work fine in safari, some small problems where solved with the new release.
