I'm trying to help preparing the 1.7 distro.

For this, I moved all SCAN templates (mmeditors, madmin and examples) and
configuration to a 'scan' application, which I hereby report.

All this stuff will be available in an 'mmbase-scan.zip', which includes a
README.txt on how to switch on SCAN (it is actually considerably easier then
in 1.6, because it involves only copying files, not XML editing).

The extra advantage is that the 1.7 distro itself can be much cleaner,
because it will not include lots of .shtml files which all don't work on
default (because scan is disabled) and lots of configuration files (which
all are 'inactive' because they are for scan only).

I might have forgotten some module XML still. For examples cache.xml,
upload.xml, stats.xml mmbase.xml info.xml are now inactive and might be only
used in scan. So they could also be moved to the scan app (and made 'active'
there). Does anybody know what they are for and if they might have any use
also without scan?

Btw. Most files I actually copied on the server (which is quicker and
preserves CVS history). After some time e.g. after the 1.8 branch I will
actually remove the files from the server (history is available on the new
location, and checkout of html tree will be quicker then). If you have not
yet done a cvs update -d -P by then, you will see some errors.
