Hi developers, At the recent developers-meeting we discussed progress of the "optimizing" project (formerly known as "cleaning"). It was suggested that the load of the actual development work can be distributed over a number of people and organizations, provided that a strong coordination is in place. To ensure sufficient coordination a project manager is needed with the organizational skills and sufficient time available for this job. Preferably, this person would put his/her effort mainly in coordination of the work and organizing resources, rather than development work itself.
At the meeting I proposed to investigate if I could find enough time to put myself forward as the projectmanager for this project. However, as it turns out, I don't have sufficient time available, so the function is still vacant. The MMC is interested in any suggestions about how to resolve this situation. What do you think?
