What does re-indexing from Axapta do? We knew it is dropping indexes and re-creating them, but how to describe it more technically.
When re-indexing from Axapta, what happens on the SQL server? Does certain system tables in Axapta get updated with new indexes to be used as a reference when user perform a search in Axapta?
In short, would appreciate if somebody knows what exactly the series of events happening when re-index from Axapta SQL Admin.
thanks.

If your db is oracle, you probably have to 'compute statistics'afterwards. Reindexation (with oracle) drops all indexes and creates the ones found in the AOT. Be aware that marking one index on a table and reindexing, drops all indexes on the table and recreates them. Reindexation shouldn't have any influence on performance, unless some indexes are missing or somehow messed up. But on oracle, setting up 'compute statistics', let's say once a week, would have great importance.

Hi, I want to know what exactly does a reindexation. And if it is suppose to slow Axapta. And any other usefull information. We
tried it because we tought that it'll speed up Axapta but itbecame
very slow the first time we open our BOM.
Thanks!
