Hi, Its quite simple, if I understood u r question correctly.   you can use FromDate..Todate in transaction date field of the query form .  use dialog fields  for From date and To Date (user will enter this value), then use these dates in the fetch method / executable section of your report as per u r requirements.   Look some standard reports line LedgerTrailBalance , AccountSummary . you will get some idea.
