Thanks for the response. But it does not seem to be the case here.
In this case we are talking about a ProjInvoiceProposal. When the document was made, the customer was not able to edit the restriction.
We logged on, and was able to edit (talking about the same callerrecord, callerform here). But later the customer tried again - not able to edit. We logged on and now we were not able to edit????

If editAllow is false on the datasource (in the calling form, that is , the form that called DocuView) you are not able to edit "restriction".
(You also have to look at Document handling - Active document table, which is setup per company, I think :)

The restriction - field on DocuView(Form) is sometimes not enabled
and we don't understand why.

On the same application, with no changes in setup, on the same
record, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. When it works -
it works in every company, when it doesn't - it doesn't work in any
company.

Please help.
