Hi,
have a look at the [optional] parameters to the COMVariant constructor.
eg:
COMVariant comvar_in = new COMVariant(COMVariantInOut::In,
COMVariantType::VT_VARIANT);
COMVariant comvar_out = new COMVariant(COMVariantInOut::Out,
COMVariantType::VT_VARIANT);
