    We had the same issue and found that our database was too large for
our hard drives.  Once we passed the 81% full mark our performance
dwindled considerably.  We upgraded to the largest raid drives we could
get; now the issue seems to be resolved.

I'm interested in your results also.

Not, yet. We are still investigating. They run SP3a, which doesn't
contain the memory leak as in SP3. Their SQL server needed some upgrades
(ram ect) and I will see the results soon.
