a few month ago, we run into the same situation.
We found out that the setup-program for Ax 3.0/SP2 copies the file axSYS.aod
into the OLD folder of the axapta-application (which shouldn't be done
'cause the axSYS.aod from the Ax 2.5 should be placed there).
The data-upgrade job check the application-version of the .\old\axSYS.aod
and depending on this information the data-upgrade will be performed.
To solve your situation:
- copy the axSYS.aod from an axapta 2.5 application into the folder
OLD of the axapta-installation, which was updated to 3.0SP2
- redo the data-upgrade job from the upgrade-checklist

Friday we started an upgrade from Axapta 2.5 SP4 to 3.0 SP2. I have done 3
tests before the final and all of them wend well.
When I examined the data Sunday morning I found that a lot of the upgrade
script hadn't been executed. I found out that only the service pack upgrade
from Axapta 3.0 to 3.0 SP has been executed.
Can anybody give me an idea to why this has happened? And how do we check
which upgrade Axapta will run, before starting Axapta or as part of starting
the upgrade scripts?
Some more information:
- We started by exporting all data from Oracle 8.1.7 and imported
them in Oracle 9.1.0.2.
- Next we started Axapta 3.0 and got an error
11-06-2004 23:20:10 admin 0 Error 4021 ORA-04021: timeout occurred while
waiting to lock object

CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE Axapta IS -- method: 0=estimate,

- After restarting oracle this error disappeared.
- The rest of the upgrade went as we expected, except it did a 3.0
to 3.0 SP.
