enabled. Our DB admin really doesn't want to disable pipes, as he sees no
way that having an additional protocol enabled can interfere with the one we
need, and the other databases (yes, we have other db's running on the same
server) apparently gain speed optimisations from the pipes being enabled.
Can any one tell me:
1. How do other protocols interfere with tcp/ip
2. How does having other db's on the same machine affect Axapta
3. What sort of performance increase (tiny, massive..) can we expect if we
disable named pipes and/or move the Axapta db onto it's own machine?

I have been trawling through the App log on our Axapta server machine
(the
box that hosts the server manager and AOS's) and I noticed that each
of our
AOSs reported the following warning upon startup:
Object Server AxSunLive1: SQL diagnostics: Detected SQL Protocol 's'
is not
recommended for Multi Session Navision Axapta use.
What does this mean? I am keen to do anything that would speed up
reliability and performance , so this cought my attention.
