Objet�: [development-axapta] Very Important : User ( customer people) Access to Tables
Hi,
I need some help from you guys. My company is implementing axapta
for Finance in Ottawa, Canada for an auto parts manufacturing
company. Ours is a medium sized company. We have a trouble of
controlling some users who are from the customer's side. Many times,
they are messing up with our production data, and at the end of the
day, it is becoming very hard to trace whats happening and we (
including axapta ) are blamed. Today is a night mare for us as they
deleted complete chart of accounts. Myself and my lead came up with
a strategy of giving access to some critical table as per users.
Here are my ideas.
1. I would like to give acess to some 10 tables for only 3 people. I
would like to restrict other users. How Can I do this in terms of
tables?. The customer side people are directors of each department.
Its kind of hard to give them user control. Hence, we gave them
admistrative rights for the production data. And they are messing up
with the data. How can I restrict Axapta tables on the basis of
users irrespective If they are admistrators or users.
2. How does the security work for the Axapta Tables?. Do you have
any security criteria in terms of access to the users?
3. Any other Ideas from restricting the users from the direct access
from the tables?. I don't mind restricting them at the database
level?
Your help will be very valuable for us.
