In what form did you try to add the field and where?  If you tried to add the field in a group that is linked to a table field group (DataGroup) then it's a normal behaviour that the field is not showing.

Hello

I need to be able to modify the exchange rate when a local currency
transaction is entered. A function similar to a transaction that is
being posted in USD, where the reference exchange rate is copied from
the exchange rate table but the value can be overwritten for the
specific transaction. 

I entered a field exchratesecond in a form, but it is not showing. 
 
Anyone knows how to do this?
