Thanks for the technet reference Steve, it was very interesting to find out
a few more 'small details' of Axapta...although personally I still not sure
which if there is any true benefit to be had from not using DAT for
transactions....
Thanks
James

Hi James
Checkout Technet discussion below, I have raised this very question...
Contribution 10888.5 from Niels Moeller [MSFT], Denmark:
Dont try to delete the DAT company
It would not be a good idea to delete the DAT company since Axapta is
using
informations that only are in the DAT company. So since the DAT company is
vital for Axapta, Axapta creates a DAT company if it can not find the in
the
DAT company in the data file.
By the way you cant delete the DAT company from Axapta.
The DAT company is Axapta is special, it holds all of the non-company
things
like Logins etc. Ever considered what would happen if you click on the
"Duplicate" button on the Company Accounts form?

can I ask why you thinkit is not a good idea to use DAT?
just wondering what the reasoning might be because after all Axapta
companies are in the same SQL database....

hi,
i think working in DAT company is not the best way to start in MBS
Axapta, but i have seen many clients ( from others MBS Partners)
using DAT company,...so i guess you can use it without thread.
ie. a client is working during 2 years in a intensive way ..and
nothing strange has append.....yet.
bye
