Hi Matt,
there is a fill factor on database and on index. (e.g. 80 % - means that each block has 20 % free space at creation and reorg) In database maintenance you can change the factor or do it interactive in SQL manager.

To set a fixed fill factor

1.      Expand a server group.

2.      Right-click a server, and then click Properties.

3.      Click the Database Settings tab.

4.      Under Settings, select the Fixed check box, and then position the fill factor slider.

(relatively) tiny..194Megs. It's the damn indexes. I fail to see how an
index on three fields can be more than twice the size of the actual table..

Subject: [development-axapta] Database size vs Size of company accounts

Hi all,
I recently ran the Size of company accounts report (Admin->Reports->Size of
company Accounts), and received the   following:

CompanyDatabase |      size (bytes)
--------------------------------
Company             12,534,872,129
Company             28,697,761,157
Company             3553,224
Company             4366,211,524
Company             557,877
Company             6384,598,768
                  --------------
Total                  11,984,054,679

That's just under 12Gb of company data. Yet SQL server enterprise manager
reports our current database size at 58290.44Mb (approx 58Gb) of used space.
Can anyone explain where the other 46+ Gigs of database space is going!? Is
there something that is not counted by the report?

FYI, the total of size reported for all indexes (if I am reading it
correctly) is 13Mb.
