But - I always like to know what is going on... and: defining a ODBC Datasource allows you to set advanced options like tracing.

Can anybody please explain the advantages/disadvantages of using an
Axapta ODBC data source when installing Axapta 3.0 (both 2-tier
client & AOS server). I know that a data source is no longer required
in version 3 but are there any good reasons for still using it.
I've read quite a few forums and nobody seems to have a definitive
view on this.
