But can you actually remove the startbar itself?

you can lock it down pretty good by settings in gpedit.msc
removing start menu items from default user etc

Hi all,
We have Axapta running fine on  terminal server, but we would like to
restrict the users to only being able to access Axapta on that box. We
found
a doc detailing locking down a TS server, and it included the following:

Internet Explorer in Kiosk Mode
Administrators can replace the standard Windows Explorer user interface
with
Internet Explorer in Kiosk mode. When you run Internet Explorer in Kiosk
mode, the Internet Explorer title bar, menus, toolbars, and status bar
are
not displayed, and Internet Explorer runs in Full Screen mode. Only Web
pages are displayed. Internet Explorer in Kiosk mode can be enabled by
enabling the following policy:

[User Configuration\Administrative Templates\System]
.      Custom user interface
Recommended setting: Enabled
Interface file name: "%ProgramFiles%\Internet Explorer\IExplore.exe" -K

We want to try using Axapta as this 'Custom user interface' instead of
Internet Explorer. Has anyone tried this or something similar to remove
the
startbar, other apps and basically anything that is not Axapta?

Thanks, I'll just make the config file available as the shortcut ;)

One common installation for all users.
Also use one config file to make sure everybody has the same Axapta
environment

i.e
Make a Shortcut with target simmilar to:

%programfiles%\Navision\Axapta\Ax32.exe <Shared Directory>\MyConfig.axc

Thanks Pieter,

By that do you mean using the install disk and re-installing Axapta for
each
windows user (if you can do that), or just installing it to a common
location?

Personally I would use a standard (common) install & separate Windows
Users (due to profie settings etc)

Hi all,
We want to do a test run of Axapta over terminal server next week, but
we
are unsure of the correct configuration ITO window users. We have had no
end
of pain trying to have different windows users run Axapta on the same
machine (since web deployment installs the app in per-user folders, and
we
can't seem to change that).

When we configure our terminal server, should we be allowing remote
users to
all log in with the same windows user, or insatall the Axapta client to
a
common directory using the standard installer and let them run Axapta
directly instead of through the web deployment component?

Thanks and Regards,
