One suggesstion.

If you want users not to edit one of the item/storage dimensions on profit
&loss or transfer journals, we could go to Inventory
Management-setup-Dimensions-dimension group-select your dimension group--select
particular storage dimension/item dimension-go to edit tab and uncheck the P&L
and Transfer Journal. In that way users will not be able to decide on the
dimensions.

This is not a technical solution.

Let us know, whether it helped you.

Thanks
Lenin

Subject: [development-axapta] Fixing the Dimensions to display in Inventory
Journals

Hi All,

I'm working with the Profit and Loss and Transfer journals. In these
Journals, when we go to the "Lines" form, there is a provision to
specify the inventory dimensions that will be shown against a journal
line (Button:Inventory> Dimensions Display).

Now, my requirment is that I don't want my end-users to be able to
decide on the dimensions that will be displayed. Instead I want to
ensure that only say, the "Color", "Size" and "Warehouse" dimensions
are displayed on the form.

I've tried hiding the fields on the form by setting the visible
property to false, however, this isn't working... My guess is that
the dimensions to display are being controlled through some
class...But I'm not able to identify which and how.... Any pointers?

Thanks in advance....

Regards,
satish
