You have 2 options:
1) Yes, you could create asp.net application that would communicate with
Dynamics AX.
A) To communicate with AX DB you have to do one of two things:
1) Connect to the db using .Net Business Connector
2) Connect directly to the DB. (Not recommended, specially if you are
doing add/delete/update) The resson for that is AX populate some certain
fields to keep track of things.
2) You'r other option is to use EP from within Microsoft AX, which is built
on top of sharepoint.
