I'm using Axapta 3.0 SP 6 and it works fine for that function.
I'm sure that the cause is convert into max integer value.
For example if you declare
int i =31131178729;
;
info(strfmt("%1", i)); //--> 2147483647
it will return 2147483647 not 31131178729
perhaps you should try to change the datatype into real
