I wont suggest to use temp tables.. You can create a customized lookup form - 
Example - DirPartyLookup. If it is just one column , you may also want to try 
display method in AutoLookup field group..

you can use temporrary table to insert records 
from both the table and then use the "SysLookupTable" on that
