In 4.0 I've been creating saleslines and salestable rows programmatically by
using their axSalesLine classes. Instantiate a new one, Fill up their .parmXXX
methods with your data, and call their .save
I have noticed that they sometimes miss a few business rules, but generally
they work fairly well. You should find similiar ax classes for items...

Does anyone have any tips on how to programmatically create items and boms?
Basically, we'll have the new data in a table, and need to know if there is
quick set of functions we can call to create the item or bom. We won't be
importing from an excel spreadsheet, if possible.

This is for AX3.0sp5.

Thanks,

Andrew
