Hi,

rndis is pretty standard in desktop linuxes by now. I know you need some 
extra kernel modules to run this, see http://www.linux-usb.org/usbnet/
Next to the android device, windows mobile devices (6.x) can also to 
rndis to linux boxes out of the box, so this would really be a nice thing...
