Please file a bug as that presumably needs fixing for Gnome regardless.
I filed https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTBUG-140847. It behaves
differently than as described in the similar existing ticket about
GNOME; so may or may not be the same issue. Or may not even be a Qt
issue (though less likely based on rudimentary initial investigation).
Basically what I am asking is if anyone is aware of any downside to
changing the xdg-shell plugin to stating in the negotiation that it
prefers server side decorations (for non-frameless top-level windows of
course) by invoking zxdg_toplevel_decoration_v1::set_mode instead of
unset_mode.
I don't think there would be a practical downside, things would only
change on Cosmic.
It would have to be Qt 6.11 material.
Do you think that adding some control of the platform theme (via a new
theme hint perhaps) over this makes sense, or would it be an overkill?
